The vCOPs 5.8 Admin page is stuck on “Verifying Login Information”. The goal is to un-register vCOps 5.8 from the 5.5 windows vCenter since vCOps is no longer collecting metrics since it is going to be decommissioned.
Shutting down the vAPP and powering on did not help. The following command shows vCOps is still connected and register with the vCenter
vcops-admin register status
vCenter Server address = https://vc55.lab.com/sdk
vCenter Server name = vCenter 5.5
vCenter Server user = vsphere.local\Administrator
vCenter Server connection status = Connected
vCenter Server registration status = Registered
Varies unregister –vc-name <name> –vc-server <vc-server> –user <user> –password <password> [–force] commands failed.

- Remove the “com.vmware.vcops” extension from vCenter. See Remove Old vCenter Plugins
- Power off the 5.8 vAPP
- Un-check the NIC’s on both VM’s. Make a note that these two VM’s are going to be decommed.
